We had a decent turnout last week. I've been thinking about this a lot lately. The guys who show up on Saturday all play type 1, but I want to bring more players into the store, I think type 2 is a fairer format. My plan is to gets us santcioned for Type 2 Friday Night Magic. If thier is way to do Type 2 on Friday and Type 1 on Saturday then that is what we will do. If not I will see what brings in the most players and stick with that. You guys have any thoughts. I want to get into more competitve play, and it's just not happening for me on Saturday.

Pete I like the idea. Could you just divide the store, one half type 1 and another half type 2 on Saturday so people can play both types 1 and 2.

Type 2 Rulz! I'm all for FNM, Peter, so we can finally get some FNM foils, and boost our ratings.

So any news on getting sanctioned? Here is the website for the DCI, Magic's governing body: thedci.com
Look for the link that says DCI sanctioning.
There are a few forms to fill out (2), as well as a program that has to be installed on a computer with which pairings can be set up and randomized every round.
I can print out the rules and fill in the forms with you guys one day this week if you guys would like.

I really wish I had more time to dedicate to this. We would need to get a judge\tournament organizer. I'll see what I can come up with.

Peter, can I stop by this week (May 9-13) with all the necessary paperwork? The thing about finding a judge is no biggie, Either me, or you, or Paul, hell anyone can not participate one day and be the "judge." The store in Scotch Plains didn't have an actual judge when I used to go there, they mostly referred to their rulebooks to settle any disputes. The paperwork is easy to fill out, it should take somehting like 20-30 minutes.
Come on man, this is as easy to do as things can get. I'm willing to do the majority of the work, all you guys have to do is approve of it.
